Music For Your Yoga Practice - YES or NO?

Have you ever been to a yoga class and thought oh I like this music, what is it and then you rack your brain for the rest of the class. Well I've done exactly that a lot. So I thought I would put together my Top 10 Yoga Music Recommendations for you. I would love to hear from you and see what your favourite music is to exercise to or yoga to. Get in touch by email which is gemmanice82@gmail.com or leave a comment below.

Some people do not like music within their practice as it can make the mind wander. It's entirely up to you if you do or don't use music within your practice.

My favourite music has got to be Enigma. I love how this music corresponds with the movement of Vinyasa Flow. I can really get focused and flow with my body, mind and breath. It can also help to quieten the mind using the breathe and movement. By doing this, it means you can really turn your thoughts to be more inward to really help to still the mind.

Research shows that by allowing your body and mind to move with the music, you are using more of your intuition which in turn is then meaning turning inward. Using your intuitive guidance is the best feeling in yoga because you can just let go. If you feel sometimes you go to a class and you are feeling stressed or anxious and really don't want to go but you did, and there is music playing, notice how you feel once you come out. I imagine you feel 100% better because of the movement you have created which is releasing the calming hormones serotonin but also its releasing the endorphins, happy hormones making your mood 100% better than when you started your practice.

It also depends on the mood you are in as to which yoga you will participate in. This also then depends on the music you choose. If you wanted a more upbeat vinyasa flow, you'd opt for a faster beat. If you are wanting a slower Yin Yoga, you'd opt for a more meditative music flow.
