Today is International Women's Day 2021 and it has occurred for well over a century with the first gathering held in 1911.
Purple, green and white are the colours of International Women's Day. Purple signifies justice and dignity. Green symbolizes hope. White represents purity, albeit a controversial concept.
This years topic is #ChooseToChallenge
We can all choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality. We can all choose to seek out and celebrate women's achievements. Collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world.
Stand strong and be who you want to be, choose to challenge whatever it is that you want to change about yourself.
My Choose To Challenge is to make people more confident within themselves. It comes up time and time again within my job and I am trying to change the way people think about themselves. To do this we need to go within ourselves and really find our being, our meaning for being alive. Whatever it is that is going on outside of your body right now you can choose to ignore it or deal with it in your own way. You need to go within you to find the courage and the confidence you were born with. It is in there somewhere, you just need to let go of all the negative thoughts that are holding you back and channel them into something else.
We are born a brand new person, no one knows us and we grow up to be either confident because of the upbringing we've had or we choose to be quiet and not have the courage we would like because of something that has been said to us or we feel we cant say anything for the fear of getting shut down.
Fear is another one which comes up a lot. We are so fearful of what is happening in the world right now and we are fearful that someone is going to shut us down so we don't say anything. This then in turn makes us less confident and fearful just in case we upset someone. Find the courage and let go of the fear by again going deep inside to figure out what really is going on.
I am here for you. Whatever it is. Lets make you strong, confident and let's make your year this year.
