Every season, Casa Amor arrives to test the foundations of the villa relationships. As a relationship coach, looking at these couples from a behavioral and nervous system perspective reveals so much about human nature, ego defense mechanisms, and emotional maturity.

Let's look rawly at the current islanders, break down who is navigating the environment with genuine intent, and expose who is simply playing a survival game to keep their spot in the main villa.

1. Kavan, Charleen, and Jasmine: Attraction vs. Rock Foundations

Is the Connection Between Kavan and Charleen Genuine?

Yes, whether Kavan knew Charleen was coming in or not, what we are seeing between them right now is a genuine attraction. When two people click as quickly as they have, it's usually because there is an instant, natural vibe there.

However, it’s worth noting that they are in the high-pressure, fast-paced environment of Casa Amor. In that setting, everything is amplified, and it’s easy to mistake an intense physical spark or a holiday vibe for a deep, long-term connection, which is what we have seen in previous series. If it’s true that he was waiting for her, it shows he already had his mind partly outside of his current couple, which naturally made him much more open to turning his head the second she walked through the door.

The Breakdown with Jasmine

Kavan and Jasmine were already on rocky ground and chose to take an emotional break before Casa Amor, which tells us that their foundation was already crumbling under the villa pressure. Jasmine is very driven and has a strong sense of self-respect, and that can sometimes clash if partners are in completely different stages of life or navigating past trust issues.

With Charleen, Kavan seems lighter and a bit giddier, and she fits his specific type on paper. Right now, he’s enjoying the fun, easy-going stage of getting to know someone new without the heavy baggage or recent arguments he had with Jasmine. Charleen brings out a more playful side to him, which makes them look highly compatible at this moment. But a real, genuine connection needs to survive the villa's challenges, not just the fun of the first few days. If he does choose Charleen, it’s because he's choosing a fresh start that suits where he is at right now, rather than fighting to fix something that was already bringing him stress with Jasmine.

Are Jasmine's Feelings for Kavan Real?

Jasmine definitely has strong, real feelings for Kavan; you can see it in how much effort she’s put into reassuring him and trying to make things work. When she is with him, her intent is to build that connection. However, the constant arguments and his underlying insecurities have clearly taken a toll on her.

What we're seeing isn't necessarily a lack of genuine feeling, but rather a classic defense mechanism. When a relationship starts feeling heavy, exhausting, or full of friction, it’s completely natural to seek out light-hearted attention elsewhere just to breathe. That’s why she keeps entertaining those flirty chats with Lorenzo, it’s safe, it's familiar, and it gives her that easy, fun validation without the intense pressure she feels with Kavan.

She absolutely wants Kavan, but her communication style and her actions aren't always matching up, which is what's causing the confusion. Saying she would be with Lorenzo if Kavan wasn’t in the picture sends mixed signals and damages the trust they do have. Her feelings are real, but she’s navigating them with a bit of an all-or-nothing attitude. Instead of fully leaning into the vulnerability required to fix her foundation with Kavan, she's keeping a foot in both camps to protect her own heart from getting hurt.

2. Simba and Angelista: Reassurance and the Defensive Ego

Before Casa Amor, Simba repeatedly reassured Angelista, only to insist he was open almost immediately after arriving. This behavior points to a mix of emotional immaturity, poor communication, and an absence of long-term clarity.

When someone repeatedly gives reassurance right before a test like Casa Amor, it's often because they want to keep their options open while making sure their partner stays safely waiting for them on the other side, it is a bit of a safety net tactic. Insisting he was open almost immediately shows poor communication because his actions completely contradicted the words he used just days prior, leaving Angelista in a position where she thinks they are on the same page while he has already moved on to the next chapter. He clearly doesn’t fully know what he wants long-term, so he is reacting entirely to the present moment and whatever temptation is right in front of him. A lot of younger people behave this way because it’s easier to flip a switch and say you're open than it is to have an honest, uncomfortable conversation about your true feelings and face the consequences of hurting someone you care about.

Reassurance as a Safety Net:

Simba repeatedly gives intense reassurance right before a test like Casa Amor to ensure his partner stays waiting for him, while secretly keeping his own options wide open.

Contradictory Open Status:

Insisting he is open almost immediately upon arriving at Casa Amor completely invalidates his previous promises, showing poor communication and leaving Angelista completely blind-sided.

Instant Real-Time Temptation:

Lacking long-term clarity, he reacts entirely to the present moment, turning his head for Mica and entertaining a trip to the Hideaway because it is easier than being honest.

Internal Guilt Mirror Reflects Poor Actions:

Because he is fully aware that his behavior contradicts his words, any mention of Angelista's name acts like an unwanted mirror reflecting his poor choices back at his ego.

Ego Protection Mode Activated:

To shield himself from the discomfort of accountability, his instinct chooses self-preservation, immediately twisting the narrative to make it look like the situation is being blown out of proportion.

Defensive Fight-or-Flight Shutdown:

Rather than admitting he handled things badly, his sympathetic nervous system triggers an intense defensive response, forcing him to deflect, push back, or completely shut down the conversation.

When someone acts defensive the minute their partner or ex is brought up, it usually stems from a place of underlying guilt and a desire to protect their own ego. Simba knows his actions haven't matched his words. He gave Angelista tons of reassurance, turned his head almost immediately for Mica, and even entertained the idea of going to the Hideaway before that connection fizzled out.

Because he knows he’s in the wrong, any mention of Angelista acts like a mirror reflecting his own poor behavior back at him. Instead of sitting with that discomfort and taking accountability, his natural defense mechanism is to push back, deflect, or shut down the conversation, meaning he is in the fight-or-flight response of the sympathetic nervous system. It's far easier to get defensive and treat the situation like it's being blown out of proportion than it is to look inward and admit, "I handled that badly and hurt someone who trusted me." He’s reacting from a place of self-preservation because facing the reality of how he treated Angelista challenges the narrative he wants to hold about himself.

3. Fitzy and Lola: Strategic Play or Secure Foundation?

When an islander gets heavily involved in everyone else’s relationship business, it usually points to a classic case of deflecting. If Fitzy is focusing so much energy on what other couples are doing, it can be a subconscious way to avoid looking too closely at his own relationship or his own standing in the villa. It’s a lot easier to dissect other people's dynamics or live vicariously through their high drama than it is to sit in your own couple and deal with the reality of your own connection. When you live vicariously through others in that environment, you're essentially borrowing their excitement and chaos because your own situation might feel a bit too comfortable, or perhaps a little stagnant, and you're craving that fast-paced villa energy.

There is definitely a strong, genuine connection between Fitzy and Lola. You can see it in how comfortable they are together and the way they locked things off so quickly. However, because they settled into a secure, exclusive dynamic so early on, it naturally makes the public, and other islanders, wonder if it's a strategic move. In a game-show environment, being the solid couple early on can feel like a safety net.

But a relationship built on a true foundation can handle the test of the villa without needing to constantly remind everyone how perfect they are. The real indicator of whether it's genuine or a game will be how he navigates the moments when the spotlight shifts, or when a challenge throws a curveball. If his feelings are real, he won't feel the need to over-correct his behavior just to prove a point to the cameras or the public.

Deep down, Fitzy absolutely has a curiosity about the Casa girls, even if he tries to play it down or laugh it off. We saw hints of it during the heart rate challenge when he joked about locking things off too early because no one was dancing on him. That kind of joke usually holds a grain of truth. It tells us he feels a little restricted by how fast things moved with Lola. The fast-paced nature of Casa Amor is designed to tempt people who feel settled but hidden away from the action. While he might want to get to know them to feel that initial, giddy spark of a fresh chase again, the fear of losing the secure foundation he’s built with Lola, and the public's perception of him, might hold him back from fully turning his head. He wants the fun of the attention, but he may not want the real-world consequences that come with it.

4. Aiden vs. Kavan: Sibling Rivalry and Deep-Rooted Insecurity

A cinematic, candid shot of two stylish, athletic young men in swim shorts standing by the edge of an infinity pool during the day. Luxury resort.

When someone is constantly pushing for physical affection and begging for kisses, it absolutely screams insecurity. In a healthy dating dynamic, you want a connection to flow naturally. When you're forcing it or treating a kiss like a target you have to hit to prove your worth, it shows you're relying entirely on external validation to fuel your ego. Feeling rejected because Martha politely declined him but then went and kissed Samraj is a massive blow to that ego, especially since he seems to think he's the alpha in the villa.

There is a huge element of sibling rivalry and jealousy when it comes to his brother, Kavan. Even though Aiden is the older brother, Kavan has come into the villa and naturally handled himself with a lot more emotional maturity and ease, which has made him much more appealing to the girls. Aiden constantly comparing himself, trying to claim he taught Kavan everything he knows, or asking girls who is better looking is a classic sign of deep-rooted insecurity. He's hyper-aware that his younger brother is navigating the villa more successfully, and that creates an underlying tension.

By pushing so hard for kisses from girls like Martha or Tina, Aiden is desperately trying to stay in the game and outshine his brother, but it’s having the exact opposite effect. It comes across as desperate rather than confident, and the competition he's creating in his own head is only highlighting his own lack of genuine chat.

5. Lorenzo, Julia, and Yasmin: The Thrill of the Chase

Luxury Mediterranean villa terrace

Honestly, Lorenzo’s behavior suggests he is much more invested in the chase and the initial thrill of dating than he is in actually finding deep, long-term love. He has a very nonchalant, unpredictable approach to relationships, even admitting himself in the garden that he normally gets to a certain stage and just runs away.

In the real world, this is a classic protective barrier; people who act aloof or self-sabotage the second things get real are usually trying to avoid the vulnerability that true love requires. While he’s open to exploring connections because it’s fun and feeds his ego, his past track record in the villa of checking out quickly shows he isn’t entirely ready for the emotional commitment that comes with a real relationship. He’s there for the experience and the excitement, but true love requires sticking around when the honeymoon phase fades, which he hasn't shown he can do yet.

There is definitely something interesting happening between Lorenzo and Julia, and it comes down to a complete shift in dynamics:

  • The Exhaustion with Yasmin: With Yasmin, the connection was heavy, full of mixed signals, and felt quite intense because she was constantly hedging her bets between him and Aiden. Lorenzo tends to lose interest the minute a situation feels secure or dramatic, so the baggage with Yasmin ultimately cooled him off.

  • The Pull of Julia: Julia, on the other hand, is a strong woman who isn't throwing herself at him. She plays it very cool, acts a bit uninterested, and keeps him on his toes.

  • The Ego Magnet: Because Lorenzo is so used to getting easy attention, Julia’s nonchalant vibe acts like a magnet for him. It challenges his ego in a way Yasmin didn't.

You can see a different kind of playful, flirty chemistry blossoming here because he is actually having to work for it. He’s actively initiating chats with Julia and expressing that he wants to get to know her more instead of running away. It feels lighter and much more authentic right now compared to the constant back-and-forth he had with Yasmin, but only time will tell if he's genuinely changing his patterns or just enjoying a new chase.

The Casa Bombshell Agenda: A Means to an End

Are people being used to get to the main villa? Absolutely, and honestly, it happens every single year because it’s the nature of the Casa Amor villa and the way the game is played. The ultimate goal for any Casa bombshell is to secure a permanent ticket into that main villa, and because they only have a few short days to make an impact, the pressure is massive.

When you look at the behavior patterns during Casa week, you can usually spot who is being strategic. A lot of the bombshells will intentionally target the islanders they know are on shaky ground, like Kavan or Lorenzo, because they are much easier to sway than someone in a completely locked-off couple. They turn on the charm, give instant validation, and say exactly what the original islander wants to hear to make them feel desired and secure.

From a coaching perspective, it’s a classic case of conditional connection. The bombshells are navigating the situation with an agenda as they have been watching from the start; they need to form a bond fast to survive the elimination, which means their focus is often more on self-preservation and staying in the game than it is on building a slow, authentic, real-world foundation. It doesn't mean a genuine spark can't grow from it later, but right now, a lot of the flirting in Casa is simply a means to an end to walk through those main villa doors.

Are you finding yourself constantly deflecting, feeling insecure in your bond, or stuck in a cycle of mixed signals?

You don't have to navigate your relationship tests using protective barriers or defensive coping strategies. Let's work together to look at your connection patterns, dismantle performance anxiety, and cultivate an unshakeable foundation built on raw honesty.
